What we Believe

images: Bible

We believe in living out our Christian faith as effectively as possible, making an impact with those who do not know the great news about Jesus Christ

We believe we should share that good news of Jesus, equip people in their faith journey and see them live their faith out, in the world. At the church, we believe …

God has Spoken

The Bible is God’s word, clear, reliable and contemporary. It tells us all we need to know and to serve God.

God is Father, Son and Holy Spirit

God the Son became a human being in the person of Jesus Christ. The God-Man showing us exactly what God is like and how we should live.

Jesus has died

Jesus died on the cross to take the punishment we deserve because of our sin, our refusal to let God rule over us. We depend on Him alone to be forgiven.

Jesus is alive

God raised Jesus from the dead to be our living Lord. He lives and rules today. He opened our way to heaven.

Jesus will return

Jesus will return to judge us all, to rescue those who have trusted Him and to punish those who have rejected Him.

Gods Spirit is with us

God’s Holy Spirit gives us new life and helps us know and grow more like Jesus. We need His power.

Becoming a Christian

To become a Christian, we must turn to Christ, accepting His rule over us, and trust in His death for us as our saviour.

Living as a Christian

To live as a Christian we need to listen to the Bible, to obey what God says, we need to talk with God, to pray, and we need the encouragement of other Christians (church).

Serving as a Christian

To serve as a Christian we must no longer live for ourselves but for God and especially to make Him known to others.

Waiting as a Christian

To wait as a Christian is to look forward to meeting Jesus face to face either when we die because death is not the end or when Jesus comes back.

Our PCC has passed a resolution under the House of Bishops’ Declaration on the Ministry of Bishops and Priests in order to reflect the church’s convictions on the distinctive ministry of men and women.

Key information about the church...

Where & when does the church meet?

Our Church meets every Sunday at 11:00am for our Sunday Service. There is usually plenty of parking along Church Lane.

We meet at:
All Saints Church
Church Lane
Riseley
Bedfordshire
MK44 1ER

You can see a map on our contact us page.

What should I expect when I visit the church?

You will receive a very warm welcome. Our welcome team will answer your questions and direct you to where you need to go. Our services usually last about an hour. On the way in you will receive a service sheet which will help guide you through the service and includes everything you will need to know. Please let the welcome team know if you need a large print service sheet. Every Sunday we sing, pray and hear a talk explaining a passage from the Bible. Once a month we take communion during the service, this is usually on the fourth Sunday.

Tea, coffee and biscuits are served after the service where there is plenty of time to meet new people and ask more questions.

What happens to the children at church?

The first Sunday of the month is usually an All Age Service, designed to be accessible to people of all ages. On other Sundays we have fantastic children's groups for:

Roots (pre-school age children). Children under 6 months are welcome but must be accompanied by their parent/carer at all times.
Shoots (School year R-3)
Fruits (School years 4-9)

Children stay with their parents at the start of the service. Halfway through the service children are invited to go to their groups, which meet in different parts of the church building where they always have a lot of fun! Parents then collect their children at the end of the service. All leaders are DBS checked.

For more information about what happens in the children's work please visit the relevant age groups under church life or contact Sam Toseland our Children and Families Worker.

Is there a dress code?

No! Please just be yourself and come dressed in your 'normal' clothes.

Will I have to join in?

Not at all! You are free to simply observe or participate as much as feels comfortable for you.

Is there a toilet?

Yes!  We have a toilet with disabled access and baby changing facilities. Our welcome team will point you in the right direction.

I have more questions, how can I get in touch and ask them?

Please feel free to contact us.
